Expansion of the existing rail station next to Eden Park in preparation for the Rugby World Cup and addition of all weather canopies and a pedestrian tunnel under busy Sandringham Rd.
If there was ever a project with time and site constraints this was it! The original 25 week programme was shortened to 16 weeks to meet Eden Park rugby obligations and to further test the metal of the NZ Strong team. Not only were the road works to widen Sandringham Rd scheduled to coincide with our building programme but mother nature also decided to deliver 112 days of unremitting rain.
Nothing that a determined grimace and smart off-site pre-fabrication (thanks to the in-house 3D Cad and BIM team) couldn’t handle.
